Our program seeks to produce chemistry with a strong fundamental technical education, who master the theoretical course of chemistry and the experimental skills. Our program is for students who seek a broad education in the application of chemistry to a variety of specific areas, including organic optoelectronic material, molecular devices. Chemistry students acquire the necessary background and skills to design organic functional optical and electrical material and devices. In addition, our program aims to develop the independent innovation activities, the skills of international academic communication, and the spirit of collective cooperation, so that the students will become highly qualified professionals in the field of chemistry.
(2) Program Features
First, our program emphasizes on the central courses in parallel with the frontier studies. The compulsory courses focus on learning basic courses including organic opoelectronic chemistry, electronic process in chemistry, and chemistry and physics at surface and interfaces, so that students have a solid, theoretical foundation in chemistry. The selective courses will be introduced by many PhD advisors with overseas experiences, focusing on how to deal with chemistry problems emerging from many fields including organic semiconductor, molecular electronic devices and surface chemistry, in order to improve the students' research capabilities.
Secondly, our program focuses on both knowledge teaching and interests training through combining course learning with lab training. There are a number of research teams in School of Science, Tianjin University. The main courses are given by various professors with a wealth of research experience and fruitful research achievement, who can provide more real cases in the class for improving the learning efficiency of students. In addition, there are many research fields in Tianjin Key Laboratory of Molecular Optoelectronic Sciences, which can provide more opportunities for students to integrate multidisciplinary knowledge and might yield some cross-frontier investigations.
Thirdly, our program aims to strengthen the concepts of creativity during the course organization for meeting the needs of current trends in chemistry.
